Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 7, 2026

Overview

NiceDays does not collect any personal data. There are no accounts to register, no servers operating behind the app, and no analytics or advertising SDKs included.

Your event data remains strictly on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, in your personal iCloud private database. The developer has no access to your content.

Data you create

Event titles, dates, notes, categories, repeat rules, reminder settings, and selected background images are stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data framework.

If iCloud is enabled on your device, this data syncs across your personal devices via Apple's CloudKit private database. That database is hosted by Apple and linked directly to your Apple Account; the developer of NiceDays cannot view, export, or modify its contents.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled strictly as local notifications on your device. Reminder details never leave your device and are not routed through external push notification servers.

Calendar access

Importing events from your calendar requires full access to Calendars (labeled as "Full Access" in iOS prompts); exporting NiceDays countdowns to your calendar requires write-only access.

NiceDays requests calendar permissions only at the precise moment you initiate import or export. Calendar data is processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted externally.

Photos

Selecting a custom background image uses the system photo picker. The picker runs out-of-process, meaning NiceDays only receives the single image you select and never gains access to your broader photo library.

The selected image is stored locally with the event and syncs via your private iCloud storage.

Biometric security (Face ID and Touch ID)

When the app lock is enabled, authentication is handled directly by Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. Biometric data remains secured within the device's Secure Enclave; NiceDays only receives confirmation of whether authentication succeeded.

Third-party services

NiceDays contains no third-party SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking tools. The app makes no independent network requests; the only network activity is Apple's system-level iCloud synchronization, which you can manage in iOS Settings or directly within the NiceDays settings page.

Website analytics

The product website utilizes Umami, an open-source, privacy-focused analytics service self-hosted on our own server. It records only aggregated, anonymous page views without using cookies, fingerprinting, or collecting personal data.

Website metrics are completely independent of the app. The app itself never transmits telemetry.

Children's privacy

NiceDays is not targeted at children and collects no personal data from any user, including children.

Policy updates

Any updates to this policy will be published on this page alongside an updated revision date. Significant changes will also be highlighted in version release notes.

In-app purchases

NiceDays Pro is available as an in-app purchase. Its price and duration are shown on the App Store product page. Subscriptions are automatically renewed by Apple and can be cancelled anytime in iOS Settings. Payments, renewals, and refunds are all handled by Apple; we do not have access to your payment information.
